  • Vincent C. Yu, M.D.

    Vincent, in practice for over 30 years, is founder of Quality Eye Care, P.C., an ophthalmic practice specializing in premium implant cataract and refractive surgery, and the treatment of glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic eye disease.  Prior to starting Quality Eye Care, he served as a major in the U.S. Air Force, providing eye care to active duty and retired service members. He completed his training at Wayne State University, and the Mt. Sinai Medical Center in NYC.

    Vincent is CEO and a board member of  Electronic Eyewear Solutions.  

  • Ken Shimokawa, Ph.D.

    Ken is  VP of business incubation services at SNBL USA, and venture partner at Vision incubate, Kanazawa University fund.  30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry through roles at Astellas Pharma and Santen Pharmaceutical.

    Accomplishments include leading research teams, heading global development projects, launching new drugs in the Japanese market, managing product licensing and partnerships, and investing in biotech ventures. Founding  president of Santen Ventures, played a key role in corporate venture capital initiatives, including investments in 20 companies, with 10 successful exits (including 5 IPOs, 4 M&As, and 1 reverse merger) and closed 10 licensing/M&A deals. As a consultant, he has led over 50 projects, supported over 20 startups through individual support and collaborations with programs like Block Buster Tokyo and the Kansai Life Science Accelerator Program. He has also been involved in the creation of six new companies.

    Ken is the Chief Business Officer of Electronic Eyewear Solutions. 

  • Ryan Chittaro

    Ryan’s passion and specialty is working with entrepreneurs and growth-oriented companies, with over 20 years experience in finance and corporate strategy across a variety of industries.  He holds a CPA and a bachelor's degree  in accounting from Michigan State University as well as an MBA from the University of Michigan.

    Ryan serves as CFO of Electronic Eyewear Solutions.

  • Ronald H. Bergman, M.D.

    Ronald, founder of Bergman Porretta Eye Center, is a leading ophthalmologist with over 30 years of experience with cataract and refractive surgery, and the treatment of glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic eye disease. He has been at the forefront of refractive surgery development in Michigan, and has been a strong proponent of improving patient outcomes for his patients and the general public. He completed his training at the University of Michigan and Sinai Hospital in Detroit.

    Ronald is Medical Director and board member of Electronic Eyewear Solutions.

  • Lalet Jose

    Lalet has 21 years of experience in manufacturing and 8 years in Near Eye Device development.

    Lalet is Director of Product Development at Electronic Eyewear Solutions. 

  • Peter Francis, M.D., Ph.D.

    Peter is CSO and CMO of Ray Therapeutics, is an experienced biotechnology executive and an ophthalmologist clinician-scientist with expertise in ophthalmic genetics and retinal disease.

    He has almost two decades of working in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries where he has led several gene therapy products from discovery through clinical development. Previously, he served as CMO of RetroSense Therapeutics and CMO and CSO at 4DMT.

    Peter is a member of the Macula Society and the American Ophthalmological Society. He has held academic faculty positions at St. Thomas’ Hospital, London and Casey Eye Institute, OHSU, Portland, OR and has published approximately 100 peer-reviewed articles.

    Peter is a senior advisor at Electronic Eyewear Solutions.

  • Sean Ainsworth

    Sean is CEO and Chairman of the Board at Immusoft, a Seattle-based cell therapy company, and has 25 years of experience in pharmaceuticals and biotechnology. Member of the Opus Genetics Board since April 2018 and currently serves as the Lead Independent Director of the Board. He is also a co-founder and Chairman of the Board at Ray Therapeutics, a clinical-stage ocular gene therapy company.

    Founded and led RetroSense Therapeutics, a gene therapy company he advanced into human clinical trials and sold to Allergan in 2016 in a deal valued at up to $555 MM. Involved in the launch and growth of Compendia Bioscience, Inc. and GeneVivo, LLC; Compendia BioScience was acquired by Life Technologies in 2012. Mr. Ainsworth founded Ainsworth BioConsulting in 2004 to provide licensing, as well as strategic and business planning services to the life science and entrepreneurial community. Prior professional experience also includes research at the Medical Biology Institute (now Avanir Pharmaceuticals, developers of Abreva, the leading cold sore medication), intellectual property at Koyama and Associates in Tokyo, and international corporate development consulting at The Mattson Jack Group.

    Mr. Ainsworth earned a B.S. in Microbiology from University of California, San Diego and an M.B.A. in strategy and finance from Washington University in St. Louis.

    Sean is a founder of Electronic Eyewear Solutions, and currently serves as a senior advisor at the company.

  • Steven A Shanbom, M.D.

    Steven is a leading, board-certified ophthalmologist with over 30 years experience. He is the president of Shanbom Eye Specialist and the medical director of the Cataract Specialty Surgical Center. Dr Shanbom specializes in advanced cataract surgery and refractive surgery. 

    He received his MD degree from Wayne State school of medicine and completed his ophthalmology training at Sinai Hospital in Detroit. 

    Steven is an advisor at Electronic Eyecare Solutions.

  • Ranjit Kommineni

    Entrepreneur and business executive with leadership roles in multiple industries. Started and built Gemini Enterprises into a leading FMCG sales and distribution companies. A  leading figure of MicroDose Life Sciences (affiliated with Living Essentials, makers of 5-Hour Energy), and instrumental in setting up and and managing Living Essential’s Lifetime Ventures, a $100 MM medical technology-focused fund.
